Summer Camp and Child Care
Are you looking for summer care for your children? Look no further than this list to start your search.
When you choose summer care for you children, there are a few different ways to address it. You can alternate care days with other parents in a trade arrangement. You can hire a summer nanny for your family or share a nanny with one or two other families. Or we can choose summer camp.
The summer care search starts early and camps fill up fast.
I know it feels like you have to be at the ready when camp signup opens. It's a very stressful time for working parents and even stay-at-home parents. We all want our kids to be active, happy, and well cared for over the summer.
NANNIES
This can be an ultra-convenient way to go. They generally come to you and often are willing to work with flexible schedules. Nanny candidates coming back from college can work full-time during the summer and if you're lucky to find someone you love, a family can have 4-5 summers covered by the same person. This is great for the sitter/nanny as well as the family. It’s also a nice perk to have a built-in babysitter if they are able to come back for holidays and spring break.
I created the Erie Sitters and Nannies group at 11:59 pm on a Saturday, after unsuccessfully finding a local sitter. This group gained hundreds of members in the first week, and we're approaching 3K in membership currently. Options : Share a summer nanny with a neighbor if you can only commit to part-time, or get a small group of littles together in a home for daily care. Lots of options when you go the nanny route.

Because the group was growing at such a quick rate, and friends from further north were trying to join, we also created a group in Fort Collins/Greeley. Please share with your friends in that area too.

Some of our traditional camps fill up quickly.
Camp Erie always fills up in a blink. You must be on the computer and ready. The fastest I’ve seen it fill up is in 7 minutes.
SVVSD Summer Camp also fills up pretty fast.
There is a camp coming back to Erie this year, and that is Rocky Mountain Day Camp. This location of RMDC will be at Meadowlark May 28th - July 26th, offering robust programming, with over 30 activities available in every session.
